Abstract

The reflection on cosmic education, if considered in its most complete form, which corresponds to the theories that Maria Montessori developed in the last years of her life, during a period spent in India with her son Mario from 1939 to 1946, and from 1947 to 1949, can be considered a frame within which it is possible to consider her complete works. The article intends to show how it is possible to trace the first intuitions and traces of cosmic education already in some writings published in the early twentieth century. Starting from this assumption, the concept of cosmic education is here examined to grasp not only the characterizations and developments of it, but also the elements that still maintain a strong newness.
