Abstract

The paper reflects on the case of forced administrative internment of minors or forced adoption in Switzerland, from 1930 to 1981. This measure was carried out in many cases arbitrarily: it often caused situations of violence, abuse, exploitation toward children, in institution and adopting families. The survivor’s stories describe corporal punishments, humiliations, and even psychological violence. The paper shows how, since 2009, a very complex victim rehabilitation process began in Switzerland and a restorative justice path has been implemented, but many questions still remain to be resolved, however.
