Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Submission or Processing fees: no APC or ASC is required, nor it should be. Please immediately report any fee request to the Publisher.

Language: English or Italian. RSE favourite language is English, since it is the preferred language of the scientific community. Usage of English as main language helps indexing and content dissemination. However, RSE also reviews and accepts submissions in French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Article length: 9.000 words, including endnotes (excl. abstract and keywords).

Review article max length: 3.000 words.

Title: An English title is mandatory. For articles in other languages, a title in the original language is required as well..

Abstract: an English 150-250 word-long abstract is required. For articles in other languages, an abstrac in the original language is required as well.

Keywords: four to six Keywords in English. For articles in other languages, please provide keywords in the original language as well.

Article body: no specific formatting is required. Usage of a 12pt font is welcome.

References: please include author-year references at the end of each article. References should be listed aphabetically and chronologically.

Author signature: Submissions ought to be anonymous. After an submission is accepted, final version ought to be signed, included author name, surname, academic affiliation and email.

This call aims to propose a critical and historical reflection on the many variables that feature the practical and theoretical achievements of Maria Montessori’s Pedagogy and Movement from the end of the XIX century to our years, by highlighting the human, professional and cultural relations between her, her thought and some significant institutions, educators and thinkers in Italy and in foreign Countries.

Maria Montessori, her theories, her method and her schools have always been at the center of a broad debate that involves both educational elements, and historical, cultural or political aspects.

The information we collect about users

We collect information to provide you with a better experience of using our websites and applications.  In order to provide you with access to certain services or data within our websites and applications, we may require that you provide certain personal information. The Firenze University Press will process your data (for example your name, address, email address, country of residence) in accordance with your rights under the Data Protection Act 1998. We may process your information in any number of ways and on any databases we use for the following purposes:

  • To help us manage your membership or run any other services we provide to you

Sharing your information

We take our obligations and responsibilities regarding protecting your privacy very seriously, and therefore, we exercise great care to protect the information we collect about you.

  • We will share your information outside The Firenze University Press only in the following circumstances:
  • You have provided your express prior consent, and the contractor or organisation is working directly with us as a partner as a part of maintaining our activities, products, or services. Service providers and suppliers are required to keep confidential and secure the personal information received from us and may not use it for any other purpose other than as originally intended.
  • To our agents or sub-contractors for operational reasons
  • To any third parties who provide a service or benefits to you or for us in connection with your membership
  • For the purpose of our compliance and regulatory reporting, or to confirm your identity for anti-money laundering purposes, which may include checking of the electoral register

Feedburner feeds

  • Users who sign up for our Feedburner Feed are asked to provide information to Feedburner. This information is only available to us through Feedburner and is subject to Google's privacy policy.
  • Usage of our smart phone apps will be tracked. By using these apps, you acknowledge and agree that anonymous information about that usage may be captured to assist us understand how our apps are used and improve them accordingly.
